We are seeking an experienced Major Gifts Officer in South Florida. The Vice President of Major Gifts is responsible for implementing an aggressive strategy for enhancing private, philanthropic support to the American Heart Association, Greater Southeast Affiliate. The position is responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding six-figure gifts from individual major gift donors and prospects on a year-round basis while working in partnership with local, Affiliate and National staff. The Vice President of Major Gifts is held accountable to specific donor development activities and dollar goals including building a donor portfolio to raise $1M+ annually.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree (advanced degree preferred) plus a minimum of 5 years Major Gifts fund raising experience. This candidate must be goal oriented and have a proven track record of effective sales and closing strategies. A thorough knowledge of the process of identifying prospects for Major Gifts, prospect/donor cultivation processes and general knowledge of Planned Gift vehicles is required. Preferably candidate will reside in the South Florida area.
